Shawn Hofing

Hello, welcome to new beginnings.

In my work as a Psychotherapist, I feel deeply honored to be invited into people’s unique stories, helping them to listen to and sort through the heartbreak, shame, disappointment, and failure that they might be feeling. My passion is to empower clients to live more integrated lives, by helping them to navigate their stories of harm with kindness and self-compassion instead of shame. I consider it a gift to have the opportunity to walk alongside you in whatever storyline you find yourself, in order to help you feel less stuck, and move towards greater freedom, wholeness, and hope.

My experience includes working with couples, groups, and individuals of any age. I typically work with parents, teachers, leaders, artists, and young adults. My specific interests and specialties include trauma, family of origin issues, identity development, anxiety, depression, shame, and relationship issues. I also value walking alongside clients who are in transitional seasons of life, as I believe these are often the seasons when our identity is challenged the most.

In my personal time, I enjoy spending time with my family, walking my dog, baking a nice artisan loaf of bread, drinking a hot cup of tea, and reading a good story.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Take good care,

  • I am a Washington State Approved Clinical Supervisor, currently working under the supervision and support of Eric Strom. I have been working in the field of psychotherapy since 2016, and was trained as a clinical supervisor through a Cascadia Training supervision course with Eric Strom. I acted as a practicum group facilitator for first year graduate students for two years at The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology.

A core value in my work is that “you can not take anyone any further than you have not gone yourself.” Thus, I continue to be trained, and supervised extensively in the services I provide.

I am a Journey Clinical KAP Provider

I offer a therapeutic modality called Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), the use of ketamine as a complement to psychotherapy. I deliver KAP in my practice in partnership with an organization called Journey Clinical, which has a specialized medical team that determines eligibility for KAP, prescribes the ketamine, & supports us in monitoring outcomes.
