Shawn Hofing
Hello, welcome to new beginnings.
In my work as a psychotherapist, I’m continually humbled by the invitation to witness people’s stories—stories held not just in the mind, but in the body and nervous system. I walk alongside clients as they gently turn toward the pain of heartbreak, shame, disappointment, and failure—not to fix or erase these parts, but to honor them with compassion and curiosity.
My passion is helping people live more integrated lives—where pain doesn’t define the whole story. Together, we explore the places that feel stuck or fragmented, and work toward a greater sense of wholeness, freedom, and embodied presence.
I offer individual, couples, and group therapy, often working with parents, teachers, leaders, artists, and young adults. My clinical focus includes:
Developmental and relational trauma
Spiritual Trauma
Family of origin and attachment patterns
Identity formation and transitions
Anxiety, depression, shame, and relational distress
Men’s Issues
Grief & Loss
I’m especially drawn to those tender in-between seasons—times when identity feels uncertain, when old patterns resurface, or when life asks something new of us. I believe these moments can open us to deep transformation.
Outside the therapy space, I find grounding in quiet rituals: walking my dog, hiking, cooking, sharing tea with someone I love, reading a poem, or immersing myself in a good story.
If you find yourself longing for a different way of being—with yourself, others, or the world—I’d be honored to walk with you.
Take good care,
Shawn

How we can work together
We’ll start with a free 20-30 minute consult. This will give me an opportunity to learn more about you and your goals, answer any questions you have, and see if we might be a good fit to work together.
You choose the format that works best for you:
-
If you prefer to make progress steadily over time, we can meet on a weekly or bi-weekly basis for 50- or 80-minute sessions.
-
For accelerated results, concentrated therapy in the form of intensives may be a good fit for you. Like a large dose of therapy at once, you can experience rapid relief and healing with a relatively small time investment. 1- and 2-day options available. Click here to learn more.
-
If you’re already working with another therapist and finding the work there helpful, great! Specific treatments like Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy can be a powerful addition to your work by helping to break through a specific barrier or accelerate your healing as you continue working with your therapist. Adjunct therapy can occur via ongoing or intensive therapy.

I am a Washington State Approved Clinical Supervisor, currently practicing under the supervision and support of Eric Strom. I’ve been working in the field of psychotherapy since 2016, and completed my formal training in clinical supervision through Cascadia Training, under Eric Strom’s instruction. For two years, I also served as a practicum group facilitator for first-year graduate students at The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology.
Supervision, for me, is both a responsibility and a relationship—an invitation to explore the work beneath the work. I hold a deep respect for the courage it takes to grow into clinical maturity, and I aim to create a space where emerging therapists feel supported, challenged, and known.
A core value in my supervision work is this: you cannot take anyone further than you’re willing to go yourself. I continue to engage in ongoing training, consultation, and supervision to stay grounded and accountable in the work I offer.
